Because our process is one of discovery—discovery of family purpose and values, discovery of creative thinkers and cutting edge projects, discovery of other cultures and environments—working with us is exciting and engaging.  Typically an NPA client and  her family convene in structured family get-togethers where they have the opportunity to talk about what means most to them.  In our search for projects, the client and family learn together about issues and innovations in Social Entrepreneurship. In the due diligence phase the client, family, and NPA advisor make site visits and experience cultural travel together. Finally, the client and family make decisions about how to allocate resources together.

About Our Clients
Whether clients approach us as individuals, or as families, we team with them to identify and support high quality, innovative projects and organizations that reflect their desire to make a better world.   The process engages the a client’s life experience, creativity, and resources, and, if she choose to involves her family, draws generations together to affirm a legacy of guiding values.

Though New Philanthropy Advisors is based in Boston and San Francisco, we are happy to meet with our clients nationwide.  Because some of our work involves multiple generations, our services include making presentations about Social Entrepreneurship to clients’ children’s schools or colleges, clubs or other groups.  We provide reading lists for the benefit and enjoyment of all generations, and offer one-on-one opportunities for family members to meet with Social Entrepreneurs and learn more about this exciting field of work.

“Donors are including their families for so many reasons.  They want to share their values, to give their children a feeling of social responsibility, and they want to keep the family legacy going strong.”
